I found out about Embrace Life because I first went through Embrace Grace. Before Embrace Grace, I had an on-again, off-again relationship with God. I thought about Him– I knew He was there–but I didn't take any steps towards really getting to know God or welcoming Him into my life. I already had two kids at the age of 18, and that was really hard. I did everything for myself by myself, and it was a lot for me. When I was introduced to Embrace Grace, I was on my third pregnancy, and having them as my community was extremely helpful. It was reassuring to know other moms who were in similar situations to me. We all were on this journey of creating a better life for our children.
And I'm so thankful for my leaders. They always have my best interest at heart. Whenever I need something or have a question, my leaders show up. I remember that during an Embrace Life class, we discussed forgiveness. I didn't know how to approach the topic, but my leader told me to write down what I felt at that moment. Very simple. Once I started writing, I couldn't stop. I didn't realize how much hurt I was carrying until I put pen to paper. That activity helped me release things I was holding onto for such a long time– it freed me!
Embrace Life truly helped me grow in my faith and stay connected and grounded in God. I'm a better parent because of this program. In every class, I learned something new about myself and God. I learned more effective ways to parent and handle difficult situations. And these are lifelong friends I've gained through Embrace Grace. Many moms transitioned with me into Embrace Life, and it's been a blessing to have relationships with moms I can grow with!
