Alyssa Morgan Director of Group Development
Areas of Ministry: People: Love // Serve // Community // Repeat
Family: I have been married to Andrew, my oil-field working hunk since 2013, but we have been together since 2008 (which totally goes toward our year count). We were blessed with Lucas, our love-all-the-people adventurer, in September 2014 and were blessed with Liam, our talk-your-ear-off sweetheart, in February 2017.
Saved: I was riding in the car with my grandma and aunt when my sister decided she wanted to get saved. They started talking about this place called hell and I started to cry because I did not want to go there. I was 5. So I prayed the sinners prayer with her and peace fell on me. My heart shifted and relationship with Him began. I rededicated my life in high school and my love and zeal for the Lord has been growing daily since!
Previous Lines of Work: Hospitality, Event Venue Management, Sales, Non-profit/Ministry and Event Management.
One of the Things I Find Most Fascinating: Listening to people’s stories. And throw pillows. I love and want allll the throw pillows.
Book: Currently reading Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst!
Movie: This is hard. I really enjoy documentaries. Cheesy Christmas movies are good and You’ve Got Mail is a classic. My husband looovvveees all things Star Wars so I feel like it’s kind of rubbed off on me a bit, too.
Musical Artists: There is so much awesome worship music these days! My current jam is a little Kim-Walker Smith (On My Side), Lecrae (Anomaly), Elevation Worship (There is a Cloud) and KJ (The Garden).
Place To Be: Broken Bow, OK with my husband! Tubin’. Vacations with our big family and friends that are like family. Anywhere in the mountains. Cruises are fun, too!
Place To Pray: My favorite is my closet. I consider it my dwelling place.
Food: I could probably eat a steak anywhere anytime.
Drink: Unsweet tea with splenda/lime/mint from my garden, diet cream soda or powerade zero grape! And lavender lattes or hazelnut flavored coffee are delish.
Recreational Activities/Hobbies: I mean, bargain shopping is totally a recreational activity. Along with antiquing/junking. We do like camping, but as we have gotten older it has turned into cabin-ing. Oh and Amazon Prime.
Scripture: “Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” Hebrews 13:2
My Heroes: My parents who have taught me how to always selflessly give whether you have the means or not. My husband who travels the great state of Texas to provide for our family. My brother who has practically served his whole adult life for this nation as a US Airman and now a US Marine. My sister who lives on pennies and works two jobs so she can fight sex-trafficking and rescue/free women.
